What Is TFG Rewards?
TFG Rewards is South Africa's largest fashion retail loyalty programme — swipe your free card at Foschini, Markham, Sportscene, Jet, @home and 20+ other TFG brands and you get instant member-only discounts, personalised vouchers, and automatic competition entries. There are no points to track. Savings hit your till slip immediately. The value is unpredictable — TFG decides what discounts and vouchers you get based on your shopping behaviour — but since it's completely free, you're leaving money on the table if you shop at TFG stores without it.
When Is TFG Rewards Worth It?
Without effort: Swipe your card at every TFG purchase, pocket whatever Swipe & Save discounts happen to apply → R200–R500/year on a typical R2,000/month spend.
With the 3 moves: Check vouchers before shopping, time bigger purchases around promotions, use the card across all TFG brands → R500–R1,000/year realistically.
Recent changes: The programme has grown to nearly 40 million registered members. A new Swipe & Win cycle runs from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 with 4,000 daily winners. New TFG Money Account applicants get R1,500 in discount vouchers — though the credit account itself carries interest charges, so read the fine print.
How It Works
Where it works: Foschini, Markham, Jet, Sportscene, Totalsports, Sneaker Factory, @home, American Swiss, Sterns, Exact, The FIX, Fabiani, Relay Jeans, Archive, Hi, and more. Not accepted at Coricraft, Dial-a-Bed, Volpes, The Bed Store, Biggie Best, or JD Sports.
What you get: Three things. (1) Swipe & Save: instant member pricing on selected products — the discount is applied automatically at checkout when you swipe your card. (2) Personalised vouchers: discount vouchers loaded to your account based on your shopping history. (3) Swipe & Win: every purchase is an automatic competition entry.
How you get it back: Discounts are applied instantly at point of sale. Vouchers are redeemed by scanning a barcode at checkout. No points to convert, no minimum thresholds.
What it costs: Free. No membership fees, ever.
How to sign up: Ask at the till of any TFG store — takes two minutes. Also available via WhatsApp (0860 834 834) or the Bash website. You can scan your card into SuperCards via screenshot after registration.
Good to know: Personalised vouchers can't be used on sale items, gift cards, or airtime. Only one voucher per transaction. Vouchers expire quickly — typically 14 to 60 days — and TFG won't extend the date. If you forget to swipe your card, you miss the Swipe & Save price, and there's no way to claim it after the fact.
The 3 Moves That Actually Matter
1. Swipe Your Card on Every Single Purchase
This sounds obvious, but it's the most common mistake. Swipe & Save discounts are applied automatically — you won't know which products have member pricing until the card is scanned. Skip the swipe and you pay full price. You also miss competition entries. Keep your card in SuperCards so it's always one tap away, even if you left the physical card at home.
2. Check Your Personalised Vouchers Before You Shop
Open the Rewards tab on the Bash website before heading to a TFG store. Vouchers are loaded periodically based on your shopping patterns, and they expire quickly. A R125 off R500 voucher sitting unnoticed in your wallet is wasted money. The 30 seconds it takes to check can save you 10–25% on a purchase you were going to make anyway.
3. Spread Your Shopping Across TFG Brands
TFG Rewards works across 20+ brands. If you buy sportswear at Totalsports, jewellery at American Swiss, and homeware at @home — all on the same card — TFG's algorithm sees a more active customer and generates more personalised vouchers. Consolidating your fashion and lifestyle spending under one card means more offers in your wallet.
Get Your Savings (Best → Worst)
Personalised vouchers on full-price items — the best value. Use a voucher on something you planned to buy at full price and you get a genuine 10–25% off.
Swipe & Save member pricing — automatic, no effort. The discount varies by product and promotion, but every rand saved is real.
There's a way to stack even more value on top of these — see Pro Tips below.
Opening a TFG Money Account for the R1,500 in vouchers — looks generous, but it's a revolving credit product with interest and fees. If you carry a balance, the interest easily wipes out the voucher value.
Watch Out For
- Vouchers expire fast. Typically 14–60 days. The expiry will not be extended, full stop.
- Vouchers don't work on sale items. If the product is already marked down, your voucher won't apply. This catches people off guard.
- Don't confuse the rewards card with the credit account. TFG Rewards is free. A TFG Money Account is revolving credit with interest charges up to ~27% annually. Store staff may encourage you to open one. If you don't need credit, politely decline — you get TFG Rewards without it.
- Several TFG brands are excluded. Coricraft, Dial-a-Bed, Volpes, The Bed Store, Biggie Best, and JD Sports don't participate. Don't count on your card working there.
When to Skip TFG Rewards
- You rarely shop at TFG brands. Under R500/month across all TFG stores, the savings are negligible. The programme only works within TFG's ecosystem.
- You primarily buy sale items. The best vouchers don't apply to marked-down stock. If you only shop clearance, the programme adds little.
- You want transparent, predictable rewards. TFG Rewards is opaque by design — you can't calculate your return in advance. If you prefer a programme with clear points-per-rand maths, grocery loyalty cards like Clicks ClubCard offer more predictability.
