What Is Clicks ClubCard?

Clicks ClubCard is South Africa's most-used loyalty programme -- scan your free card at any of the 900+ Clicks stores, The Body Shop, Engen, and over a dozen other partners, and earn cashback on everyday health, beauty, and pharmacy purchases. The base return is 2% back, which bumps to 4% once you spend R600 in a month. That's solid for a free card, and with a few smart moves, a regular Clicks shopper can realistically save R300-R800 a year.

When Is Clicks ClubCard Worth It?

Without effort: Spend R1,000/month at Clicks, just scan your card -> R240-R480/year in cashback
With the 3 moves: Load My ClubCard Deals, time purchases around promotions, hit the R600 threshold -> R500-R800/year

Recent changes: As of 20 February 2026, the programme moved to monthly cycles with a lower R600 threshold for double points (4% cashback), down from the previous R1,000 over two months. Qualification periods are now monthly, making it easier to hit the higher rate.

How It Works

Where it works: Clicks, The Body Shop, Claire's, Engen (~1,000 fuel stations), Europcar, ARC, Sorbet, Execuspecs, Courtyard/City Lodge/Town Lodge hotels, and more -- 14 partners total.

What you earn: 1 point per R5 spent at Clicks and most partners. At Engen, 1 point per litre of fuel. 10 points = R1.

How you get it back: Points convert to cashback automatically once you hit 50 points in a monthly cycle. Cashback is loaded onto your ClubCard and can be spent at Clicks, The Body Shop, or Claire's -- in-store or online.

What it costs: Free. Always has been.

How to sign up: In-store (instant plastic card) or online at the Clicks website -- takes about 2 minutes. You can scan your card into SuperCards via screenshot after registration.

Member perks: Seniors (60+) automatically get double cashback every Wednesday. Baby Club members (children under 36 months) earn 4% on baby products. Gold status (300 points in a year) gets you a free magazine -- not exactly life-changing.

Good to know: If you forget to scan your card, those points are gone -- Clicks does not add points after the sale. Cashback expires 12 months after it's issued. And unlike some programmes, there's no bank cash-out: you can only spend cashback at Clicks, The Body Shop, or Claire's.

The 3 Moves That Actually Matter

1. Load My ClubCard Deals Every Two Weeks

Check the Clicks website for "My ClubCard Deals" -- personalised discounts that apply automatically at the till once loaded to your card. New deals appear every two weeks, and they're instant rand-off savings, not just extra points. You earn full ClubCard points on the pre-discount price, so you're effectively double-dipping. Takes 2 minutes, saves real money on items you were buying anyway.

2. Hit the R600 Monthly Threshold for 4% Cashback

Since February 2026, spending R600+ at Clicks in a single month unlocks 4% cashback for the rest of that month. If you're anywhere near R600, consolidate your health, beauty, and toiletry purchases at Clicks rather than splitting them across stores. The difference between 2% and 4% adds up fast -- on R1,000/month, that's R240/year extra.

3. Time Big Purchases Around 3-for-2 and Pay Day Savings

Clicks runs "3 for 2" promotions regularly (buy 3 selected items, cheapest is free) and "Pay Day Savings" events at month end with up to 14% cashback on specific ranges. Stock up on toiletries, skincare, and household items during these windows. You still earn full ClubCard points on the amount paid, so the promotions stack with your cashback.

Get Your Points Out (Best -> Worst)

Spend at Clicks on things you'd buy anyway -- full R1 per 10 points, no minimum, instant at the till. The cleanest option.

Spend at The Body Shop or Claire's -- same rate, useful if you shop there. Extends where your cashback works.

Letting cashback sit unused -- it expires after 12 months. If you stop shopping at Clicks, you lose it. There's no cash-out to your bank account.

Watch Out For

• Forgot to scan? Points are lost. Clicks won't add them retroactively. Keep your card in SuperCards so it's always one tap away.
• Cashback expires after 12 months from the date it was issued. Check your balance on the Clicks website and spend it before it vanishes.
• Not everything earns points. Gift cards and medication itself are excluded -- you only earn on the dispensing fee for prescriptions.
• Engen points aren't generous. At ~R24/litre, 1 point per litre works out to about 0.4% back. It's a nice extra if you fuel there anyway, but not worth driving past a cheaper station for.

When to Skip Clicks ClubCard

• You don't regularly shop at Clicks. Under R300/month, your annual cashback is under R72. Not nothing, but not worth thinking about either.
• You're a Dis-Chem loyalist. Dis-Chem Benefits runs at 1.5% base -- lower than Clicks -- but if that's where you shop, the convenience matters more than the rate difference.
• You want cash in your bank account. Clicks cashback can only be spent at Clicks, The Body Shop, or Claire's. If you prefer actual rand back, this isn't your programme.
