What Is Weis Rewards?

Weis Rewards is the free loyalty program from Weis Markets, a regional grocery chain with roughly 200 stores across Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, West Virginia, and Virginia. Scan your Preferred Shoppers Club Card, earn 1 point per $1 spent, and redeem for fuel discounts or deeply discounted grocery items. The base return is modest — around 1% — but the fuel savings and seasonal promotions can push realistic annual value to $40–80 for a regular shopper.

When Is Weis Rewards Worth It?

Without effort: Spend $150/month at Weis, scan your card, never think about it — roughly $18–22/year in fuel and grocery discounts.
With the 3 moves: Clip eCoupons, time your gas fill-ups, and watch for holiday redemption windows — realistically $40–80/year.

Recent changes: Weis partnered with Amazon for same-day grocery delivery with full rewards earning. The program added rotating Grocery Rewards on discounted store-brand items and expanded Thanksgiving/Holiday Rewards with free turkeys and hams. Seniors 60+ now get 10% off all Weis brand items every Tuesday.

How It Works

Where it works: All Weis Markets stores. Fuel redemption at Weis Gas N' Go, participating Sheetz, Sunoco, Mirabito, High's, and Carroll Motor Fuels locations.

What you earn: 1 point per $1 spent on qualifying purchases. 100 bonus points per prescription fill (where available, excludes NJ and NY). 2x points per $100 on qualifying third-party gift cards.

How you get it back: Redeem at the gas pump for $0.10/gallon off per 100 points (up to $1.00/gallon, max 20 gallons). Or redeem in-store for deeply discounted Grocery Rewards items.

What it costs: Free. Always has been.

How to sign up: Pick up a card at any Weis store or register online at weismarkets.com — takes about 2 minutes. Creating a MyWeis account gets you 10% off your next in-store trip. You can scan your card into SuperCards via screenshot after registration.

Member perks: Seniors 60+ get 10% off roughly 6,000 Weis brand items every Tuesday — that alone can be worth more than the points program. Gold Card status (automatic at $3,500+/year spending) adds personalized coupons via mail and email.

Good to know: Points expire at the end of each redemption period — the exact date is printed on the bottom of your receipt. Weis doesn't offer extensions, so check your receipt regularly. If you forget to scan your card, most stores won't add points retroactively.

The 3 Moves That Actually Matter

1. Clip All eCoupons — It Takes 2 Minutes

Open the Weis website, go to eCoupons, and clip everything relevant. You can load up to 75 digital coupons to your card. They auto-apply at checkout if you buy a matching item — no paper needed. If nothing matches, the coupon just expires harmlessly. This turns a basic 1% program into 3–5% on specific items.

2. Fill Your Tank Full When Redeeming Gas Points

Weis gas rewards give you $0.10/gallon off per 100 points, but you must redeem all your accumulated points at once (up to 1,000). On a near-empty 20-gallon tank, 100 points saves you $2.00 — a 2% return. On a 5-gallon top-off, the same points save just $0.50. Always fill up on a nearly empty tank to maximize value. Keep your card in SuperCards so you never forget it at the pump.

3. Time Big Redemptions Around Holiday Rewards

During Thanksgiving and Christmas, Weis runs Holiday Rewards promotions where 400 points gets you a free turkey or ham (normally $15–20). That's a 3.75–5% effective return on spending — far better than gas or regular grocery redemptions. Accumulate points in the weeks before these periods by shopping as usual.

Get Your Points Out (Best to Worst)

Holiday Rewards (free turkey/ham with 400 points) — Best return in the program: 3.75–5% effective value. Seasonal, so plan around it.

Gas rewards on a full tank — $0.10/gallon per 100 points on 20 gallons = $2.00, or roughly 2% return. Available year-round.

Grocery Rewards items — Discounted store-brand staples like $0.19/lb bananas and $0.99 ice cream. Good value on items you'd buy anyway, but selection rotates.

There's a way to accelerate points significantly faster using gift card promotions — see Pro Tips below.

Gas rewards on a small fill-up — Same points, fraction of the savings. Redeeming 100 points on 5 gallons yields just $0.50. Avoid this.

Watch Out For

  • Points expire at the end of each redemption period. The date is on the bottom of your receipt — miss it and your points are gone. No extensions.
  • Scan every time. Most stores won't add points after the fact. Keeping your card in SuperCards helps you never forget.
  • eCoupons and paper coupons don't stack on the same item. Weis applies the higher value of the two, not both. Use one or the other per item.
  • Not everything earns points. Milk, alcohol, tobacco, lottery, gift cards (Weis/Visa/Mastercard), and gasoline are excluded from point earning.

When to Skip Weis Rewards

  • You rarely shop at Weis. Under $50/month means fewer than 600 points per year — barely worth tracking. If a competitor like Giant is closer, their fuel rewards may be simpler and more rewarding.
  • You prefer straightforward cashback. Weis's rotating items, variable expiration dates, and promotion-dependent redemptions are more complex than a flat-rate cash-back card. If you want set-it-and-forget-it, a grocery rewards credit card may serve you better.
  • You don't buy gas near Weis partners. Without access to Weis Gas N' Go, Sheetz, or Sunoco stations, you lose the most calculable redemption option.
