What Is MyPanera?

MyPanera is Panera Bread's free loyalty program โ€” scan or log in at any of 2,200+ US locations and earn rewards for your regular orders. The program is currently transitioning from a visit-based "surprise and delight" model to a transparent points system (10 points per $1), with the new version rolling out nationally in 2026. The paid Unlimited Sip Club ($14.99/month) is the standout add-on. Realistic value: the free program returns roughly $20-60/year depending on how often you visit and how the rewards land.

When Is MyPanera Worth It?

Without effort: Visit twice a month, scan your card, collect whatever rewards appear โ†’ roughly $15-25/year in free items and discounts

With the 3 moves: Scan every visit, redeem strategically, and time your orders around promotions โ†’ realistically $40-70/year

Recent changes: Panera is piloting a points-based rewards system (10 points per $1 spent) in Dallas, Chicago, Denver, Seattle, and Wyoming, with a national rollout planned for later in 2026. The pilot also introduces a MyPanera+ tier with better birthday rewards and bonus perks for members who spend $300+/year or subscribe to the Sip Club. This is a big improvement over the old system, which was widely criticized for being opaque and stingy with regulars.

How It Works

Where it works: Panera Bread bakery-cafes only โ€” 2,200+ US locations. No partner network.

What you earn: Currently, rewards appear after a variable number of visits (typically 4-8). In the new points system: 10 points per $1 spent, redeemable starting at 250 points for a free bagel or side, up to full entrees at higher tiers.

How you get it back: Free menu items โ€” bagels, pastries, beverages, soups, sandwiches, salads. Redeemed in-store or via online orders. One reward per transaction.

What it costs: Free. The Unlimited Sip Club is a separate paid subscription ($14.99/month or $119.99/year) for unlimited self-serve beverages.

How to sign up: Create an account on the Panera Bread website in about 2 minutes โ€” you'll get a free bakery treat or bagel as a welcome reward plus free delivery for 30 days. After registering, you can scan your digital card into SuperCards via screenshot so it's always ready at the counter.

Member perks: Free birthday bakery treat or bagel (valid 7 days). MyPanera+ members (spend $300+/year or join Sip Club) get a free You Pick Two meal on their birthday instead โ€” worth roughly $10-13. New members get early access to menu launches and occasional exclusive promotions.

Good to know: Orders placed through third-party delivery apps do not earn MyPanera rewards โ€” order directly through the Panera website. If you forget to scan, you can enter a receipt code within 30 days (limit: 1/day, 2/week, 4/month). All rewards expire after 60 days.

The 3 Moves That Actually Matter

1. Scan every single visit โ€” even for just a coffee

Every transaction counts toward your next reward under the current system. Skip the scan once, and you lose that visit's progress entirely. Keep your card in SuperCards so it's always one tap away, even when you're just grabbing a bagel. Under the new points system, every dollar earns 10 points โ€” a $5 coffee gets you one-fifth of the way to a free bagel.

2. Redeem small rewards fast โ€” don't let them expire

Rewards expire after 60 days, and there's no warning before they vanish. Check your account on the Panera website weekly and use rewards before they disappear. Under the new points system, the 250-point tier (a free bagel or side after just $25 in spending) offers the best return rate โ€” redeem frequently rather than hoarding for a larger reward.

3. Order directly โ€” never through third-party delivery

Third-party delivery orders earn zero MyPanera credit. If you're getting delivery, order through the Panera website instead. You'll earn your visit/points, and your rewards are automatically available to apply. Plus, new members get free delivery for the first 30 days.

Get Your Rewards (Best to Worst)

Free menu items (bagels, pastries, entrees) โ€” the core value of the program. Under the new points system, lower-tier redemptions (250 points) give the best percentage return.

Dollar-off discounts โ€” not as exciting, but still real savings if you were going to order anyway.

There's a way to stretch your Panera dollars further by combining the rewards program with a separate savings strategy โ€” see Pro Tips below.

Letting rewards expire โ€” with a 60-day window and no reminder, this is how most value gets wasted. Check your account regularly.

Watch Out For

  • 60-day reward expiration. Rewards disappear silently. Check your account on the Panera website at least once a month.
  • One reward per transaction. You cannot stack multiple rewards on a single order. Plan separate visits if you have several to burn through.
  • Birthday date is permanent. You can't change your birthdate after registration. Enter it correctly the first time, or you'll miss your annual birthday reward.
  • Third-party delivery earns nothing. Orders through third-party delivery apps are invisible to MyPanera. Always order directly through the Panera website.

When to Skip MyPanera

  • You visit less than once a month. The rewards are modest enough that infrequent visitors barely notice the benefit. The signup is free, so there's no cost โ€” but don't expect meaningful returns either.
  • You only order delivery through third-party apps. If you never order directly from Panera, you'll earn zero rewards. The program adds no value.
  • You want transparent, predictable loyalty rewards right now. Until the new points system rolls out nationally, the current visit-based system is opaque โ€” you won't know what reward you'll get or when. Several competing restaurant chains offer clearer earning structures from day one.
