Giant Eagle myPerks

In this guide

What Is myPerks?

myPerks is Giant Eagle's free loyalty program across its ~200 supermarkets in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, and Indiana. Scan your Advantage Card on every trip and earn perks you can redeem for dollars off groceries or cents off gas at GetGo stations. The base return is 2% back on groceries — decent for a free program — and it gets meaningfully better if you hit Pro status or lean into Own Brand products.

When Is myPerks Worth It?

Without effort: $150/month at Giant Eagle, just scanning your card → ~1,800 perks/year → $36/year back
With the 3 moves: Focus on Own Brand products, clip digital coupons, and redeem strategically → realistically $50–80/year

Recent changes: Effective 24 March 2026, myPerks redemption launched at all 285 Circle K stores in Ohio — the first concrete loyalty tie-in since Giant Eagle sold GetGo to Couche-Tard (Circle K's parent) in June 2025. The flow at Circle K is QR-code-at-pump: scan the code, the Giant Eagle website opens, you complete the redemption. Earning perks still happens at Giant Eagle, Market District, and GetGo as before. The January 2024 switch from fuelperks+ to myPerks cut the value of gas and grocery-percentage redemptions roughly in half; the $1-per-50-perks cash option wasn't affected.

How It Works

Where it works: Giant Eagle, Market District, and GetGo fuel stations across PA, OH, WV, MD, and IN. In Ohio, perks can also be redeemed at all 285 Circle K locations (redemption only, via a QR-code-at-pump flow that opens the Giant Eagle website).

What you earn: 1 perk per $1 on groceries and gift cards. 2 perks per $1 on Giant Eagle Own Brand products (Nature's Basket, Great-to-Go). 2 perks per gallon of fuel at GetGo.

How you get it back: 50 perks = $1 off your transaction. That's the simplest and usually best option. You can also redeem 100 perks for $0.10/gallon off gas (up to 30 gallons) or 150 perks for 2% off groceries (up to 20% off).

What it costs: Free. Always has been.

How to sign up: Create an account on the Giant Eagle website in about 2 minutes. Your digital Advantage Card is ready immediately — you can scan it into SuperCards via screenshot so it's always one tap away at checkout.

Member perks: Pro status (earn 2,500 perks or make 25 qualifying trips in 6 months) bumps you to 1.5x on groceries, 2x on gift cards, 3x on Own Brand products, and extends your perks expiration from 90 days to a full year. It's realistic if you spend $400+/month at Giant Eagle.

Good to know: Perks appear within a couple of days for in-store purchases. Your balance prints on the bottom of every receipt. If you forget to scan, call 1-800-553-2324 with your receipt to get perks added retroactively. The checkout system highlights your best redemption option automatically.

The 3 Moves That Actually Matter

1. Buy Own Brand Products for Double Perks

Giant Eagle's Own Brand lines — Nature's Basket and Great-to-Go — earn 2 perks per $1 instead of 1. That's 4% back instead of 2%, with no extra effort beyond choosing the store brand. Prices are typically lower than name brands anyway, so you save twice.

2. Clip All Digital Coupons Before You Shop

Open the Giant Eagle website, go to coupons, and clip everything relevant — you can load up to 150 at once. They apply automatically at checkout. No downside if you don't use them. These stack with manufacturer paper coupons on different items in the same trip. Watch for bonus perks days too — 2x and 3x promotions come around periodically.

3. Always Use the Dollar-Off Redemption

After the January 2024 program change, the $1-per-50-perks option is consistently the best value. The gas discount (100 perks for $0.10/gallon) only beats it if you're filling 30 gallons — and the grocery percentage (150 perks for 2%) is worse unless your transaction is over $50. The system highlights the best option at checkout, but defaulting to dollar-off keeps things simple and maximizes your return.

Get Your Points Out (Best → Worst)

Dollar off transaction — 50 perks = $1 off. Clean, simple, always 2% return. No minimum transaction.

Fuel discount at GetGo — 100 perks = $0.10/gallon off, up to 30 gallons. Good if you're filling a big tank ($3 savings on 30 gallons), but lower per-perk value on small fill-ups.

There's a way to stack fuel discounts well beyond $0.10/gallon — see Pro Tips below.

Percent off groceries — 150 perks for 2% off. Sounds fine, but you need to spend $50+ for this to match the straight $1-per-50-perks value. Almost never the best option.

Watch Out For

  • Perks expire in 90 days for regular members (from end of the month earned). That's aggressive — if you shop infrequently, you could lose perks before accumulating enough to redeem. Pro members get 12 months.
  • Gas purchases at the pump don't earn perks via the credit card. You earn the standard 2-perks-per-gallon by scanning your card, but the co-branded Visa doesn't earn additional perks on fuel at the pump.
  • Giant Eagle prices are higher than competitors. Multiple price comparisons show Giant Eagle is 15-20% more expensive than Walmart on a typical basket. The 2% myPerks return doesn't close that gap. Don't shop here just for the perks.
  • The 2024 transition was a devaluation. Gas and grocery-percentage redemptions now cost roughly double the perks. The dollar-off option wasn't touched, so use that.

When to Skip myPerks

  • You primarily shop at Aldi or Walmart. Their base prices are significantly lower. The 2% myPerks return won't offset Giant Eagle's price premium.
  • You shop at Giant Eagle less than twice a month. With 90-day expiration and low accumulation, your perks may expire before you can use them meaningfully.
  • You're not in Giant Eagle's footprint. The program only works at ~200 stores across 5 states. If you don't have a Giant Eagle nearby, this doesn't apply to you.
