AIR MILES became Blue Rewards on 2 June 2026. The AIR MILES program transitioned to Blue Rewards (operated by BMO Blue Rewards, Inc.), airmiles.ca now redirects to bluerewards.ca, and Miles became Blue Points. What Was AIR MILES?
AIR MILES was the coalition rewards program where you showed your card at partners like Pharmasave and at online stores to collect Miles. It no longer exists under that name: Blue Rewards, BMO's loyalty program, is its successor and is free to join. Your Miles became Blue Points, redeemable at 1,500 Blue Points = $10.
When Is AIR MILES Worth It?
Not any more: There is no AIR MILES program left to earn in. For what the successor is worth, see the Blue Rewards guide: about $25.60/year at Pharmasave on $200/month, and roughly 0.5% back online.
Recent changes: The transition was announced on 26 January 2026 and took effect on 2 June 2026. Shell finished its exit on 25 May 2026 (2 March in Alberta). The BMO AIR MILES cards were replaced by BMO Blue Rewards cards. Onyx status is legacy only for collectors enrolled before 31 May 2026.
What Happened to Your Miles
Miles: Became Blue Points on 2 June 2026, at about 16 Blue Points per Mile. The old reward of 95 Miles = $10 is now 1,500 Blue Points = $10, so there was no loss in value. Check your balance on the Blue Rewards website.
Cash and Dream Miles: Combined into one balance, so your Blue Points can be redeemed for all rewards.
Redemption: 1,500 Blue Points = $10 in store at participating partners or on e-gift cards, in increments of 1,500 Points (daily limits apply).
Onyx status: Legacy only. It is closed to anyone who enrolled after 31 May 2026. The Personal Shopper benefit ends 31 December 2026, and other Onyx benefits earned in 2026 end by 31 December 2027.

What You Can Do Now
1. Use Your Blue Rewards Card
Your AIR MILES account moved over to Blue Rewards, so you do not need to sign up again: log in at bluerewards.ca with the same account. Your old collector number is now your Member Number, and your digital card shows it. Scan your Blue Rewards card into SuperCards via screenshot, so it's one tap at the register. New to the program? Blue Rewards is free to join (you don't need to be a BMO customer); you need a Canadian mailing address and email, and must be 16 or older.
2. Earn at the Current Partners
Rates depend on the partner: 16 Points per $10 at Pharmasave, 16 per $20 per online store. Other partners include Global Pet Foods, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Fairmont, Instacart, Dollarama and Porter Airlines. Shell, Sobeys, Safeway, Metro, LCBO, Staples, Rexall and Lowe's are no longer partners. The Blue Rewards guide has the full list and rates.
3. Redeem Your Blue Points
In-store rebates at partner registers and e-gift cards both pay 1,500 Points = $10. Points can be cancelled after 24 consecutive months with no Points posted or used, so earn or use some now and then.
