What Is the Price Plus Club?
ShopRite's Price Plus Club is a free loyalty card that unlocks member-only pricing on hundreds of items at ~313 stores across six northeastern states (NJ, NY, CT, PA, DE, MD). Unlike points-based programs, the value is instant: scan your card and pay less at checkout. With digital coupons and seasonal promotions stacked on top, a regular ShopRite shopper can realistically save $150โ$400+ per year.
When Is the Price Plus Club Worth It?
Without effort: Scan your card on a $150/month grocery spend, take member pricing on sale items โ $80โ$150/year in savings
With the 3 moves: Activate digital coupons weekly, time bigger purchases around promotions, and stack store + manufacturer coupons โ $200โ$400+/year
Recent changes: ShopRite launched the expanded LockedIn Price program in January 2026 โ prices on thousands of staples are now frozen for 4โ6 weeks at a time, marked with blue tags. Requires your Price Plus Card.
How It Works
Where it works: All ShopRite supermarkets โ 313 locations across NJ, NY, CT, PA, DE, MD.
What you earn: Instant member pricing on hundreds of items every week. No points to accumulate โ discounts are deducted at checkout immediately.
How you get it back: Savings appear on your receipt. No redemption step needed.
What it costs: Free. Always has been.
How to sign up: Register on the ShopRite website, or at the customer service desk in any store. Your card works immediately via phone number lookup at the register โ you can scan your card into SuperCards via screenshot after signing up.
Member perks: LockedIn Prices (blue-tagged items with frozen prices for 4โ6+ weeks), free turkey or ham twice a year when you spend $400 during promotional windows, and the ScanRite guarantee โ if an item scans higher than the shelf price, you get it free (up to $10).
Good to know: Digital coupons must be loaded to your card before you shop โ they won't apply automatically. New coupons drop Sunday mornings with limited quantities on the best ones. Super Coupons (deep store discounts) require a minimum $25 purchase to activate.
The 3 Moves That Actually Matter
1. Load Every Digital Coupon on Sunday Morning
Open the ShopRite website, go to the Digital Coupon Center, and load everything relevant to your Price Plus Card. It takes 2 minutes. If you buy a matching item, the discount applies automatically at checkout. If you don't, the coupon simply expires โ no downside. High-value coupons are limited quantity and disappear fast, so Sunday morning matters. This alone can add $50โ$100/year in savings you'd otherwise miss.
2. Stack Store Coupons With Manufacturer Coupons
ShopRite allows one store coupon (Super Coupon) and one manufacturer coupon on the same item in the same transaction, on top of the sale price. That's three layers of savings on a single product. You can't use a digital and paper manufacturer coupon together on the same item, but store + manufacturer is fair game. Many stores also double paper manufacturer coupons under $1.00 โ check your location's policy.
3. Hit the $400 Threshold for Free Holiday Meat
Twice a year (Thanksgiving and Easter), ShopRite gives Price Plus members a free turkey or ham when they spend $400 during the promotional window. The current spring promotion runs March 1 โ April 4, 2026. Your register tracks progress automatically โ check the bottom of your receipt. If you already spend $400/month on groceries, this is $25โ$40 in free food you'd miss without the card. Keep your card in SuperCards so you never forget to scan.
Get Your Savings (Best to Worst)
Member pricing + digital coupons + sale prices โ the core value. Instant, no effort beyond loading coupons.
Free holiday turkey/ham โ excellent value if you naturally hit the $400 threshold during the promotional period.
A+ Rewards โ spend $150 on General Mills, Kraft Heinz, P&G, or Bimbo products during qualifying periods, get a $50 ShopRite gift card. Easy to hit if those are brands you buy anyway.
There's a way to squeeze even more from your regular grocery run โ see Pro Tips below.
ShopRite from Home delivery โ the $12+ service fee eats into most coupon savings. Fine for convenience, poor for deal-maximizing.
Watch Out For
- Digital coupons expire and have limited quantities. The best ones vanish within hours of the Sunday drop. Load early or miss out.
- Coupon doubling varies by store. Most ShopRite locations double paper coupons under $1.00, but some (especially in the NY capital region) stopped in 2020. Ask your store.
- Super Coupons require a minimum purchase โ typically $25 on other items. Plan your trip so you hit the threshold naturally, or the steep discount on that one item won't activate.
- Online-only coupon access frustrates some shoppers. Paper Super Coupons have largely been replaced by digital "Click, Don't Cut" versions. If you're not comfortable with the website, you may miss significant savings.
When to Skip the Price Plus Club
- You shop exclusively at Aldi or Lidl. Their everyday prices are lower on most items, and they have no coupon programs to manage. If you prefer simplicity over coupon stacking, a discount grocer wins.
- You don't live near a ShopRite. The chain operates in only 6 northeastern states. No stores west of Pennsylvania or south of Maryland.
- Your grocery spend is under $50/month. The savings are real but proportional. At very low spending levels, the coupon-loading effort isn't justified.
