Ingles Advantage Card

What Is the Ingles Advantage Card?

The Ingles Advantage Card is a free loyalty card for Ingles Markets, a regional grocery chain with 197 stores across six southeastern states (North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama). Show your card at checkout to unlock member-exclusive pricing on thousands of items and earn fuel points for discounts at Ingles Gas Express and participating gas stations. The member pricing is the real value here โ€” fuel points are a nice bonus but won't change your life.

When Is the Ingles Advantage Card Worth It?

Without effort: Scan your card, save on shelf-tagged member prices, earn fuel points passively. A household spending $500/month at Ingles can realistically save $150โ€“300/year on member pricing alone, plus $25โ€“30/year in fuel discounts.

With the 3 moves: Load digital coupons weekly, use coupon doubling strategically, and time your fill-ups around point balances. Realistic total: $300โ€“500+/year in combined savings.

Recent changes: Three stores remain temporarily closed after Hurricane Helene (late 2024) and are expected to reopen in 2026โ€“2027. The Ingles Markets app added coupon filters and split payment support in late 2025.

How It Works

Where it works: Ingles Markets stores only โ€” no outside retail partners. Fuel points are redeemable at ~107 Ingles Gas Express stations and participating Shell and BP locations.

What you earn: Member-exclusive prices on thousands of shelf-tagged items (instant discount at checkout) plus 1 fuel point per $1 spent on eligible groceries. Prescriptions at the Ingles Pharmacy also earn fuel points.

How you get it back: Member pricing saves you money automatically at checkout. Fuel points redeem at the pump โ€” 100 points = 10 cents off per gallon, up to 20 gallons per fill-up. Maximum discount: $1 off per gallon at 1,000 points.

What it costs: Free. Always has been.

How to sign up: Sign up at any Ingles customer service desk, on the Ingles Markets website โ€” takes two minutes. Digital card works immediately. You can scan your card into SuperCards via screenshot after registration.

Member perks: The Advantage Card unlocks member-exclusive shelf pricing throughout the store. That's the core benefit โ€” not the fuel points. If you provide your birthday at signup, you may receive occasional birthday promotions. Ingles also doubles manufacturer coupons of 50 cents or less when you present your card.

Good to know: If you forget your card, the cashier can look up your account by phone number. Fuel points expire at the end of the month following the month they were earned โ€” that's a tight 30โ€“60 day window. Keep your card in SuperCards so you never miss scanning it.

The 3 Moves That Actually Matter

1. Load Every Digital Coupon, Every Week

Open the Ingles Markets website, go to digital coupons, and clip everything that's even remotely relevant to your shopping list. These "Load to Card" coupons activate instantly and automatically apply at checkout when you buy a matching item. New coupons are added weekly. If a coupon doesn't match anything you buy, it just expires โ€” no downside. This takes five minutes a week and can save $5โ€“15 per trip on top of the member pricing.

2. Use Coupon Doubling to Your Advantage

Ingles doubles manufacturer coupons of 50 cents or less โ€” and the doubling scales with how much you spend. You get three doubled coupons per $10 of purchases, so a $50 trip lets you double up to 15 coupons. A 50-cent coupon becomes $1 off. Important: digital Load to Card coupons cannot be combined with a paper coupon on the same item, so pick whichever one gives the better deal per product.

3. Fill Up on a Full Tank When Points Are High

Fuel points apply once per fill-up, up to 20 gallons. Filling up 5 gallons with 500 points saves you $2.50 โ€” filling up 20 gallons saves $10. If you drive a smaller car, coordinate fill-ups with a household member's vehicle or wait until you're closer to empty. Check your point balance on your receipt or through the Ingles website, and redeem before the end of the following month.

Redeem Your Savings (Best to Worst)

Member pricing at checkout โ€” Automatic, significant, and the main reason to carry the card. No action needed beyond scanning.

Fuel points on a full 20-gallon fill-up โ€” 100 points = 10 cents off per gallon. At 500 points, that's $10 saved on a full tank.

There's a way to earn fuel points 4x faster on certain purchases โ€” see Pro Tips below.

Small fill-ups with large point balances โ€” Redeeming 500 points on a 5-gallon fill-up wastes 75% of the potential savings. Points are consumed regardless of how many gallons you pump.

Watch Out For

  • Fuel points expire fast. End of the month following the month earned โ€” roughly 30โ€“60 days. There's no way to extend them.
  • Check your receipt. Some shoppers report sale prices not ringing up correctly. Verify that Advantage Card pricing actually applied before you leave.
  • Digital and paper coupons don't stack on the same item. You can use both types in one transaction, but each individual product can only get one or the other.
  • Not all stores have fuel centers. Only about 107 of 197 stores have an Ingles Gas Express. If yours doesn't, you'll need to find a participating Shell or BP station nearby.

When to Skip the Ingles Advantage Card

  • If discount grocers are nearby: Stores like Walmart and Aldi consistently beat Ingles on base prices, even with the Advantage Card discounts.
  • If you don't buy gas at Ingles: Without a nearby Ingles Gas Express, the fuel points are harder to use โ€” and participating Shell/BP stations may not be convenient.
  • If you spend under $200/month at Ingles: The member pricing still helps, but the fuel points won't accumulate enough to make a meaningful difference before they expire.
