H&B&Me

In this guide

What Is H&B&Me?

H&B&Me is Holland & Barrett's free loyalty programme β€” scan your digital card whenever you shop in-store or online and earn 4 points per Β£1 spent, which you can spend immediately on your next purchase. That's an effective 4% back, which is genuinely good for a single-retailer scheme. The real value comes from stacking points with H&B's frequent promotions and member-exclusive pricing.

When Is H&B&Me Worth It?

Without effort: Spend Β£50/month at H&B, just scan your card β†’ 2,400 points/year β†’ Β£24/year back, plus a free birthday gift and member pricing on selected products.
With the 3 moves: Time purchases around Penny Sales and promotions, always check member pricing β†’ realistically Β£40–70/year in combined savings.

Recent changes: In February 2026, Rewards for Life was rebranded to H&B&Me. The biggest improvement: points are now instantly redeemable in 50p increments. No more waiting for quarterly vouchers.

How It Works

Where it works: All 800+ Holland & Barrett stores in the UK, plus hollandandbarrett.com. Single-brand programme β€” no external partners.

What you earn: 4 points per Β£1 spent (after discounts). That's 4% back.

How you get it back: Spend points at checkout β€” in-store or online. Minimum 50 points (50p), in 50p increments. 100 points = Β£1.

What it costs: Free. Always has been.

How to sign up: Online at hollandandbarrett.com or in-store. Digital card only β€” no plastic card. Takes two minutes; 300 bonus points (Β£3) after your first purchase. You can scan your card into SuperCards via screenshot after registration.

Member perks: Exclusive member pricing on selected products (changes regularly), plus a free birthday gift β€” a product of your choice from a selected range, no purchase needed. Valid 14 days, in-store only. You need your date of birth on your account and marketing opt-in.

Good to know: For online orders, just make sure you're logged in β€” points are credited automatically. In-store points appear within a few days; online points take longer (held until the returns window closes). If you forget to scan, you can claim missing points within 14 days with your receipt.

The 3 Moves That Actually Matter

1. Never Buy at Full Price β€” Wait for Promotions

Holland & Barrett runs promotions constantly: Penny Sales (buy one, get a second for 1p), BOGOF, BOGOHP, and percentage-off events. Full-price purchases at H&B are poor value β€” the same product will almost certainly be on offer within weeks. Stock up on supplements and staples with long shelf lives during Penny Sales. Check the website before heading to the shop.

2. Always Check Member Pricing Before You Buy

H&B&Me members get exclusive prices on a rotating selection of products. Before paying, check whether your item has a member price β€” it's shown on the shelf label in-store and on the product page online. This stacks with your 4% points earning, so you're getting a discount and earning points on the lower price.

3. Keep Your Card One Tap Away β€” Do Not Forget to Scan

4% is only valuable if you actually earn it. Add your H&B&Me digital card to SuperCards so it's always ready when you're at the till. The most common mistake is forgetting to scan β€” and while you can recover points within 14 days, it's a hassle. One tap, every time.

Get Your Points Out (Best to Worst)

Spend at checkout β€” 1 point = 1p, same rate whether in-store or online. Straightforward, no tricks needed. Minimum 50 points.

Time redemption with promotions β€” Using points during a Penny Sale or BOGOF stretches value further. Your points pay for one item, and you get a second at 1p or free.

There's a way to push your effective return well beyond 4% β€” see Pro Tips below.

Letting points sit unused β€” Points expire after 12 months of inactivity. Unlike some programmes, there's no cash-out or transfer option. Use them or lose them.

Watch Out For

  • Points expire after 12 months without a purchase. Any transaction resets the clock, but if you go a full year without shopping at H&B, your balance disappears.
  • Subscribe & Save isn't always cheaper. An independent investigation found it was more expensive than buying one-off in 59% of cases checked. Always compare the subscription price against current promotions before subscribing.
  • Only one discount code per order. You cannot stack multiple promo codes at checkout. Student discounts and other codes are mutually exclusive.
  • Points cap at 10,000 per account (per the terms). That's Β£100 in points β€” reached at Β£2,500 spend without redemption. Spend regularly to avoid hitting the ceiling.

When to Skip H&B&Me

  • For basic supplements: Supermarket own-brand vitamins and online supplement retailers are often 30–50% cheaper than H&B, even after the 4% loyalty return. If you only take a multivitamin and vitamin D, you're likely overpaying.
  • For online-only purchases: Cashback portals often offer 5–8% on Holland & Barrett orders β€” more than the 4% H&B&Me return. If you're buying online anyway, check whether a cashback portal beats loyalty points alone.
  • If you spend under Β£20/month: Your annual return would be under Β£10. The programme is free, so there's nothing to lose β€” add it to SuperCards and forget about it β€” but it won't change your finances.
